A poem written from the heart of a teacher — Acharya
Ramesh Sachdeva. It addresses parents and teachers, and also conveys the
value of poetry:
Poetry — ah, that divine art,
Speaks not to the mind, but straight to the heart.
It teaches to feel, to dream, to see,
The world not just as it is, but what it can be.
In the
Garden of Young Minds
– by Acharya Ramesh Sachdeva
In the garden of young minds, so tender and wide,
We sow the seeds of dreams with love as our guide.
Parents and teachers — two hands of the same,
Shaping tomorrow, not for praise or fame.
A whisper of courage, a touch full of care,
We help little hearts rise, aware and fair.
In every question, in every "Why?",
Lies a spark, a star, a piece of the Sky.
But oh! Dear parents, let us not race,
Let not the world steal childhood’s grace.
Hold their hands but let them roam,
Give them roots — and wings to own.
And teachers — never forget your fire,
You’re not just guides, you must inspire.
Each lesson, each word, a sacred thread,
We don’t just teach — we awaken the dead.
Let’s raise a generation not just smart, but wise,
With compassion in hearts and wonder in eyes.
Let poetry breathe in classrooms and halls,
Let rhythm echo from playground walls.
So, on this World Poetry Day, take a vow with me,
To raise our children brave, kind and free.
For in every line, and every rhyme,
Lies the soul of learning, beyond all time.
