Everyone Needs a Guiding Light in Life

✍️ Everyone Needs a Guiding Light in Life

Author: Acharya Ramesh Sachdeva

Life is a journey — sometimes smooth, sometimes complex, sometimes filled with light, and sometimes shrouded in darkness. During this journey, every person encounters a point where they don’t know what the next step should be. In such moments, a “guiding light” — a mentor, a friend, or an elder — can change the course of one’s life.

๐Ÿ‘ฃ When the Path Is Lost:

In childhood, it’s our parents who guide us. In adolescence, we rely on our teachers. And in adult life, it is experience or a senior figure who shows us the way. But sadly, in today’s fast-paced world, those who guide are becoming fewer, while those who mislead are increasing.

๐ŸŒฑ Why Guidance Is Necessary:

Just as a lamp lights the way in darkness, a true mentor transforms the uncertainties of life into clarity. They recognise our potential, give it direction, and offer support when we fall.

Imagine a cold winter night. A young boy is returning home from school. The path outside the village is engulfed in darkness, there is no electricity, and fear grows with every step. Just then, a soft voice calls from behind, “Son, wait.”

He turns around to see the elderly village teacher standing with a glowing lantern in hand.

They walk together. The teacher talks to him — about life, self-belief, and the power of learning. The obstacles along the path seem smaller in the light of that lantern. As they reach the village, the boy says,
“Sir, your lantern saved me tonight.”

The teacher smiles and replies,
“I was merely walking with you, son. The real light was always within you.”

"If life is a boat, a true guide is its rudder — without it, the boat loses direction."

Everyone, at some point in life, needs someone to show them the way.
And if you have such a person, be grateful.
And if you are capable, be that lamp for someone else — the one who illuminates the way, not the one who blocks it.

"No matter how far you go in life, never forget the hand that helped you take your first step."
