Prayer: From Ritual to Realisation

๐Ÿ•Š️ Prayer: From Ritual to Realisation

Written by Acharya Ramesh Sachdeva

๐Ÿซ Morning Ritual or Spiritual Connection?
Every school begins its day with a prayer.
Children stand in neat rows—hands folded, eyes closed, lips moving in unison.
But let us ask:
Has prayer remained a soulful act of connection, or become just a formal show?

Too often, prayer is seen as a student’s duty and a teacher’s supervision.
Many educators forget that prayer is not about discipline alone, but devotion.
True prayer cannot be forced, nor should it be limited to a few minutes of formality.

๐Ÿ‘ฉ‍๐Ÿซ Prayer Is Not Just for Students
Why are only students expected to pray?
Why do many teachers observe rather than participate?

A school must not just teach knowledge—it must nurture the soul.
And in that sacred moment of prayer, teachers and students must stand equal—together in silence, in surrender, in search.
Only then can the school become a temple of learning.

๐Ÿ’ง The Meeting of Two Thirsts
A beautiful Christian reflection says:
"Prayer is the encounter of God’s thirst with ours."

When we pray, it is not just we who long for Him—
He too longs for us.

Whether you call Him Ram, Rahim, Rab, or God—
He listens to hearts, not words.

๐ŸŒ… Let Us Reclaim Prayer
Let us return to prayer that is:

  • Not a performance, but presence
  • Not a rule, but relationship
  • Not a show, but silence filled with sincerity

Let teachers lead with hearts open,
Let students feel prayer—not just repeat it,
Let faith become unity—not uniformity,
And let schools become sanctuaries—not just institutions.

๐Ÿ•Ž When the heart prays, the world heals.
Let us all begin… again.
